Privilege Without Purpose: Blake grew up the privileged son of famed actor Victor Distefano and model Sylvie Rawlins. Sylvie left Victor when Blake was very young. Surrounded by wealth, celebrity, and every advantage imaginable, he drifted through his teenage years without ever developing much ambition of his own. After graduating from high school, Blake made no serious plans for college or a career, content instead to coast on his family name and money. He spent his days playing video games, cruising aimlessly around Los Angeles, sleeping late, and moving from one party to the next with little thought for the future.
The one constant in Blake’s life was Benji Rydell, his best friend since kindergarten. The two grew up together and shared nearly every important moment of their childhood and adolescence. Their friendship was so natural and deeply rooted that Blake never allowed himself to question the intensity of his feelings for Benji. It was only after Benji’s tragic death that Blake was finally forced to confront the truth he had buried for years: Benji had been more than his best friend. Blake had been in love with him.
