The Man Who Let the Mob In: Brett Armstrong was the powerful CEO of Rydell Productions and the former husband of Heather Rydell. Although their marriage had ended years earlier, they remained closely connected through their teenage daughter, Violet. Brett had also retained a strong bond with Jordan Rydell, who trusted him with the family company and continued to regard him almost as a son.

That life began collapsing after Mickey Donovan blackmailed Brett over a buried sexual-misconduct scandal and forced him to launder millions of dollars through Rydell Productions. Brett tried to escape Mickey’s control, but threats against Violet—and her near-fatal overdose on a fentanyl-laced pill connected to Mickey’s network—made the danger deeply personal.

When Jordan uncovered suspicious financial activity, Brett finally confessed the truth. Together, they helped expose Mickey’s attempt to have Jordan killed, but the betrayal permanently damaged their relationship. Jordan fired Brett from Rydell Productions, leaving him without the career and position that had defined much of his adult life.

At the same time, Brett became involved with interior designer Sharon Dyer. Their attraction developed into an affair before Brett discovered that Sharon was married to Carlo Bravetti and was Mickey’s stepmother. Despite the danger, Brett fell in love with her and suggested they leave Los Angeles together. Sharon admitted that she loved him but refused to abandon her marriage or ask Brett to leave Violet behind.
