Searching for Where He Belongs: Keaton Hartley was the biological son of actress Alex Reynolds and studio head Deacon Edgewater. Given up for adoption as an infant, he spent years searching for the truth about his identity before discovering his connection to two of Hollywood’s most powerful families.

Although Keaton entered the Blackthorne world as an outsider, he gradually became a trusted member of the family. He developed a close bond with Alex and built a career within the entertainment industry, eventually working alongside Stormy Blackthorne on the Nathan Blackthorne biopic American Star.

Keaton also found stability with Kelly Kahoano. Their relationship grew into one of the most important parts of his life, and he began planning a future with her. Kelly discovered an engagement ring hidden in his nightstand and realized that he intended to propose.

Those plans became complicated by the arrival of Kelly’s half-sister, Phoebe Wheland. Phoebe was struggling with obsessive thoughts about their father Matthew’s fatal plane crash and remained fixated on the final moments before his death. After witnessing one of her emotional breakdowns, Keaton became increasingly determined to help her find answers and recover from the trauma.

Phoebe began relying heavily on Keaton and gradually mistook his concern for something more. Although she began seeing Riley Weir, her disappointment over Keaton’s planned proposal to Kelly revealed the depth of her growing feelings.

Keaton ultimately postponed his romantic plans after deciding that Phoebe’s condition required immediate attention. Rather than leave Kelly behind, he announced that all three of them would travel to Santa Barbara to confront Phoebe’s mother and stepfather, a psychiatrist who may have worsened her fixation instead of helping her heal.
