He represented Kelly Kahoano-Blackthorne during her rise as an actress and became increasingly concerned that motherhood would damage the glamorous image he was trying to build for her.

After Kelly gave birth to Stormy Blackthorne’s son, R.J., Neil pressured her to give up the baby, insisting that a child would interfere with her career and make her less marketable. Vulnerable and desperate to preserve the fame she had worked to achieve, Kelly accepted his advice. She brought R.J. to Los Angeles, where Alex Reynolds paid her to surrender the child and keep the arrangement secret. Kelly returned to New York, while Alex constructed an elaborate lie to conceal R.J.’s true identity.

Neil’s influence helped turn Kelly’s private crisis into a lasting tragedy for the Blackthorne family. Stormy remained unaware that he had a son, while Alex hired Jane Wheeler to pose as R.J.’s biological mother and later had her committed to prevent the truth from emerging. By encouraging Kelly to treat her baby as a threat to her image, Neil set in motion the deception that separated Stormy from his child and damaged nearly everyone involved.

His greed later became far more direct. Neil kidnapped R.J. and demanded a substantial ransom from the Blackthornes, revealing that his earlier concern for Kelly’s career had never been rooted in loyalty or professional judgment. The child he had once persuaded Kelly to discard became another commodity he believed he could convert into money.

Stormy, Eddie, and Kelly arranged to deliver the ransom and recover R.J. During the exchange, the arrival of police startled Neil and caused the plan to unravel. His attempt to profit from the child demonstrated how completely he had abandoned any pretense of acting in Kelly’s best interests.
